Who is Sellemar?
What happened with Eraydon to make the elves and humans so hostile to one another?
What is a True Blood?
Who else have you cosplayed as? Who are you going to cosplay as next?
Who is your favorite character?
Theories abound on this one. Of course I know. Some people are quite certain they have it figured out by the end of Kings or Pawns. If you don’t have your theory yet, Heroes or Thieves will make further suggestions. However, Gods or Men, as it stands right now, intends to reveal Sellemar's origins.
This is an event which will be explained in greater detail as the series continues. Eventually, there is even a whole book on it, The Legend of Eraydon, and its cover art has already been completed. But for now, in short, there was a great battle to save Aersadore from falling into the hands of the god Malranus and his draconic horde. Eraydon led the events that revealed the god’s plot and gathered allies across the kingdom. However, when the final battle came, the human allies turned on their elven brethen and sided with Malranus’ general, Maryk. Eraydon was forced to sacrifice his own life to win the war.
Most of the elves abandoned Ryekarayn following this betrayal. Those that stayed behind in an attempt to redeem the relationship between the races were met with hostility and suffering. They became known as the True Bloods.
Those elves (excluding the Faravi, who were massacred prior to the event) who fought in Eraydon’s battle and did not abandon Ryekarayn when their human allies turn on them. They retain life spans many thousands of years longer than their non-True Blood brethren.
My first cosplay was done at 13—Sesshoumaru from Inuyasha. Following that Judge’s Choice and First Place winning costume, I created costumes for Inuyasha, Kikyou, and Itachi, but gave them to friends. I did complete a Roy Mustang costume that I kept for myself. I also began work on several other costumes (from Cardcaptors and Fushigi Yuugi, primarily). Then I moved states again when I was 16 and stopped cosplaying until a few years ago.
Then I made Dark Valkyrie Diana from League of Legends and last year, the female rendition of Eldaeus (that's me on the right... obv...) from Heroes or Thieves. I also made two other costumes for Jikun and Navon (soon to be altered to Navon and Saebellus) (but both lovely individuals don’t have the cosplay details down (aka, contacts, makeup, wigs), hence why the costumes will be altered to adjust to their cosplay styles.)
My next planned costume is Kamora, the goddess of nature and beauty, who is mentioned throughout The Kings, but more so in the series to follow. Seriously SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS COSTUME. I really want to spoil how awesome it’ll be, but I’m going to wait and show you!
This is such a toughie! It is hard, in this series, to name a favorite character because sometimes, they cause me such distress while I’m writing that I loathe them for months after. It also tends to vary from book to book as the characters rise, fall, and pick themselves back up. I honestly love all of them and for different reasons.
Right now you are thinking, “JUST ANSWER THE DAMN QUESTION.”
Shit. This is tough…. UGHHHH. Jikun, over the series, is probably my favorite. Should be my favorite…? I love anti-heroes. And Jikun has enough self-awareness, nobility, flaws, and humor to keep me happy.
…That or it’s Vale…
…Or Eldaeus…
...Or Darcarus…
…Or…. yeah… I’ll stop now…
