Hey guys! So today is the day I try to catch up on all the magnificent conventions I've attended in the last three months (and there are three)! Huzzah huzzah! Now, before I hit these last three conventions, I had to cut my hair (it's about to my collar bone now)--which was tough because I LOOOOVE long hair. However, that was the only way to wear the wig going forward! Ah, what we do for cosplay!
The most awesome fans and cosplays shall abound in these here posts (at least, the ones I have photos of!--and unfortunately I never get enough photos! I'll sprinkle them throughout my posts--even though they won't necessarily line up with what day they were taken on and for what because, well, who cares? I know you guys just want me to get on with it! And at the end, I'll link to all the rest of our photos!
(Also, as a usual reminder: if you are using an Apple device, it'll do stupid stuff and make some of the images in this post sideways. You can thank Apple for that. Or, like me, you can chuck your phone across the room and see if it fixes the problem.)
Something those Soplings who have been following me for a while may notice is that the makeup is significantly different during Cincinnati Comic Expo: Indeed, I spent all week preparing a different make-up routine. I felt it was more tribal, even though the large eyes were significantly down-played by the amount of flare and angles in the make-up. This new make-up added like an hour to my already excessively long get-up, but I really like the appearance of changes in the facial struncture!
~ Friday, Cincinnati Comic Expo Day 1 ~
We attended our first local event and it was a blast! It was also the first time I was barely at my table during an event and that was quite different (and yet, I didn't actually DO much since almost all of that time was spent cosplaying)! Friday was an easy-going day, despite the cosplay. I met some amazong Soplings and fantabulous fellow cosplayers, some new to the field (WELCOME DUSTY!) and some experienced!
~ Saturday, Cincinnati Comic Expo Day 2 ~
Saturday was a marvelous day, though we did indeed arrive late since I was going to enter the cosplay competition. Unfortuantely, I was not around for much of Saturday (due to said competition), but I know our beautiful and charming editor met many new Soplings on my behalf! As always, you guys have so much energy! Love you guys! <3
As for the cosplay competition, I took 3rd place in the Master Tier category. The first and second place were marvelous and you can find some of their cosplays HERE!
(we are so weird, I know. <3)
The hat really tops it off.
...Get it?
Oh my gosh I haven't gotten enough sleep lately...
~ Sunday, Cincinnati Comic Expo Day 3 ~
The lovely MPoppins Cosplay and Kim is Possible Cosplay stopped by my booth and I had the wonderful opportunity to see Kim is Possible's art--which is, by the way fantastic. So if you are looking to have art done for anything, drop her a message!
At the end of the day, I did my first panel with Travis Heermann, who like me, has a passion for world-building. I totally admit, I was freaking out--as many of you know, I have been dodging doing panels for the last year, but he made me feel right at ease. We had a marvelous panel!
He's a smart, well-informed man, so if you are looking for something new to read, you absolutely must check out his Japanese fantasy series. I bought his first book, Heart of the Ronin and it is very high on my TBR! SOON I SHALL BEGIN THIS ADVENTURE... SOON!
