It’s a BIG update today, the conclusion of all of my costume work! I just got back from Fandom Fest in Louisville, and I am so pumped and excited!! The convention went AMAZING!
We drove down to Louisville eaaaaarly in the morning on Friday, got a few hours of sleep, and then were up again to set up our booth! Our booth was really packed with neat stuff—we had art prints and canvases displayed on the back, and the table had our books, t-shirts, playing cards, blanket, and all the other Kickstarter prizes.
And then the convention started! We met so many awesome people. Two of them were the author Stuart Thaman and author/publisher Tony Acree, who had a booth right across our aisle. They’re convention veterans, and had so much information to share. And then… here’s the most embarrassing part… We hung out with them for the whole weekend before realizing at the end that we already know Stuart! We’ve been playing Magic the Gathering together at the same game shop for the last four years! (Not often together, but still...!)
Here are some of the other cosplayers we met!!
And this one is my absolute favorite! SAILOR DEADPOOL!!! YEAHHH!!!
And you, my wonderful readers, have been with me for the last two months seeing all the steps that have gone into creating the costumes of Eldaeus, Navon, and Jikun. I am SO happy to say that it paid off! I won Best in Show in the Fandom Fest cosplay! (dances*)
And, best of all, we sold out! We sold ALL of our paperbacks, and then had to just sell e-books and hardbacks! It was such an amazing feeling to be able to meet new fans and talk to them about the book! I told them to send me a message after they finish to tell me what they think. Which they damn well better, because I'm looking foward to it ;D (All the pressure, guys. All the pressure.)
Remember that the Kings or Pawns audiobook Kickstarter is going on right now!! You can watch the video and see allllll the amazing rewards right here!
So what’s next? Well, I have several more conventions in the mix for the next couple of months—check the events page for more details! I can’t wait for the next one!
