So as you may have seen from the characters page, we're still very much in beta of getting characters up... and it not looking like shit--but today I have the pleasure of revealing a new character of the series who made his debut in Heroes or Thieves! I had this work completed alongside Alvena months ago, so you can imagine just how difficult it was not to let it slip after I revealed the sketch: RATHURUS!
For those of you who have finished Heroes or Thieves, you're probably baffled by the lower half of the face--as I did not describe this part of Wratherus / Rathurus to the artist (since it was to be covered), he assumed it to be "human" and "normal"--thus, this sketch.
Why doesn't Rathurus get a profile like Jerah and Saebellus? Because he's pretty much a spoiler until Gods or Men is read.
Rathurus is definitely one of those characters who I have thoroughly enjoyed getting feedback on. People’s first impressions have been particularly delightful!

I had read all the info on the interactive map here on the site (a great source of clues!) So I recognized what he was right away. Loved Jerah's interaction with him, and the moral compass Wratherus showed belies the opinion other Aersadoreans have of his species.
