Nicely put! Healing is a classic risk for drama-killing (or un-killing?), and limiting it by the body's plus the healers' bodies' recovery power is a natural fix.
One limit I use is that magic can be addictive. Use your flying belt too much in a row and you start looking for excuses to stay airborne... until you're ready to jump off a building again and forget you've used up all the belt's power.
Did the Faravi speak Ancient Elven, or did they have their own tongue? The history and legends of Aersadore are a large part of what I like best about SOP.
Yes, the Faravi were one of the few races who, as entire people, spoke both Ancient and Modern Elven fluently. They were one of the most magically powerful and knowledgeable races on Aersadore (which did factor into their ultimate demise, unfortunately XD). Their native language was "Ancient Elven" and they spoke Modern for the sake of the world around them.
